Mrs. West received her Bachelor's degree from University of Georgia in Early Childhood Education in 2003, a Master's in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont University in 2007, and a Specialist in Teaching & Learning from Piedmont University in 2012.  She completed all coursework for a Math endorsement during her undergraduate years at UGA and obtained a Gifted endorsement from Pioneer RESA in 2005.  Mrs. West taught Kindergarten at Banks County Primary School in Homer, GA for 10 years (2003-2013) and 2nd grade for 2 years (2013-2015) at the same school.  

After her family moved to Gwinnett County in 2016, Mrs. West established a weekday preschool and served as the preschool director for 2 years (2017-2019) at North Gwinnett Church in Suwanee, GA.  In 2022, Mrs. West was hired as the director of Hope Springs Christian School, a private Christian micro-school for students with learning disabilities, in Lawrenceville, GA.  She served in this role for 3 years (2022-2025).  

Mrs. West and her family moved to Perry, GA in June 2025.  She is excited to return to the classroom and work directly with students again.  

Mrs. Sarah West is married to Dr. Thomas West, Jr., the senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Perry.  They have been married since 2003, and they have adopted 9 (yes, NINE) children out of foster care.  Mrs. West enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, singing, and going to the beach.
