Hello, my name is Mary Gomez, I was born in California, grew up in Texas and now make the Heartland my home. I have my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.I began my teaching career in Houston County teaching PreK (3yrs), Kindergarten (3yrs), 3rd grade (4yrs) and now 4th grade. I cannot pick a favorite grade as they all hold a special place in my heart. I have 5 amazingly talented adult children and 2 of the cutest grandbabies on the planet. Teaching and learning are passions of mine. I enjoy just about every sport there is. GO SPURS! I also enjoying outdoor activities, cooking and reading.
I have learned that a child can learn anything, with a gentle hand, a little love & a support team at home. My favorite thing about teaching is finding the gaps in students' understanding and watching those "light bulb moments" shine. I long to nurture a heart for learning that remains for life. My goal for every student is to grow in knowledge and grace, to become advocates for their learning, to broaden their problem solving skills and to build a learning toolbox that will move with them for life.
